Acrylic, Resin, Gold Leaf
30” x 36”
Colors help express the core beliefs of religions around the world. Color is a state of mind that helps connect the symbolism behind each religion to personal beliefs and experiences. In Buddhism, for example, meditating on a color helps with emotional and spiritual transformation until you reach the point of having a “rainbow body”. In Hinduism, vivacious colors are used for their deities because their belief is that color affects mood. In Islam, green is the most important color as it represents vegetation and life. In Christianity, the predominant colors are red and blue: red to represent spiritual awakening and blue to symbolize hope and faith. And in Judaism, the main color is blue to represent the sky and spirituality. This artwork was inspired by Gaudi’s “La Sagrada Familia” Basilisk. The church is a combination of gothic and modern architecture with nature inspired columns and stained glass windows.
